The question of ones’s identity, gender, growth and access to happiness that is set for us as the ultimate goal and criteria of success by the society of consumption are themes that deeply attract me. In this series of drawings, models are mixed and non-recognizable. Some of those faces are taken from the fashion imagery, others from art history classics, or some again, from personal picture. The goal is to blur the borders between eras, styles, trends, genders and personalities. I work on these portraits to make them the representation of the human face in its universality, and in a very statuesque way, almost as sculptures.
